I knew I didn’t have the time to write about Thursday night because… well… I’ve just got a lot to do before my sister comes to visit! So, I decided to simply tell the story of when I found a snake… IN MY UPSTAIRS BATHROOM…! The video is 23 minutes. The actual ordeal took much much longer… and the trauma will last a lifetime.

    A couple of notes:

    • My sister is still coming to visit… pretty sure.
    • The headlamp was for seeing into holes in walls and dark spots… where snakes can hide.
    • There is now more spray foam in my house… and less duct tape on the roll.
    • Word.

Darren, I can so relate to your story. The shit we do not want to deal with yet we muster the courage from somewhere. My hubby was gone on a week long workshop to Kentucky, I was suffering a bad bout of vertigo. It was about 10 PM when I walked to the kitchen and saw a snake slithering across my living room floor. By the time I got the broom, the snake was safely tucked behind the sofa. I knew bending over would send me into terrible spins. I opened the sliding glass doors, and managed to get the broom behind the couch. I swept like a crazy woman until the snake came sliding out into the middle of the floor. I kept sweeping him toward the open door until I flung him outside. I followed him out and continued to sweep him as far away from the house that I could. Like you, I knew I would not sleep knowing that snake was in the house. I was victorious! Sending you good thoughts for a wonderful visit with your sis!
